Over 47,000 Students Register For Higher Education Admissions

Muscat – As many as 47,717 General Education Diploma (GED) students have registered in the electronic admission system for the academic year 2023-2024, according to the Higher Education Admission Centre (HEAC), at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MoHERI).

Dr Hamad Khalfan al Numani, director general of the Unified Admission Centre at MoHERI, said, ‘Of the total registered, 15,601 are male and 19,991 female. As many as 35,592 students have made their initial study programme choices.’

He added that 2,283 students have not yet registered in the unified admission system, and the number of registered students whose options have not been specified is 12,125, indicating the necessity of registration no later than 2.30pm on Thursday, June 1.

According to Numani, the centre is preparing for the admission stage, which is as important as the initial registration. An official at HEAC explained, “The admission dates will coincide with the announcement of GED students’ final results for the academic year 2022-2023.” Read More
