Airline Liable to Employers for Compensation for Delay

As per Law of EU Regulation 261/2004 is here to defend air passenger rights. Even though airlines don’t advertise it, you can claim up to 600€ for your cancelled or delayed flights. Only 2% of air passengers that are eligible successfully claim their compensation every year. It means that 98% do not even claim it.

Can I get Compensation for a Delayed Flight?
However, if your first flight is delayed more than 3 hours, you may be entitled to compensation from the airline that caused the delay. In addition to compensation, the airline must offer you a choice between: Reimbursement of your ticket and a return flight to your departure airport if you have a connecting flight.

Can I claim Compensation for a Diverted flight?
If your flight was diverted to a different airport then you may be able to claim compensation if you arrived at your final destination more than 3 hours later than planned. However, you will not be entitled to compensation if the diversion/delay was caused by extraordinary circumstances

Do Airlines have to pay you for Delays?
According to the DOT, airlines are not required to provide money or other compensation when flights get delayed, regardless of how late they are. However, when a “significant delay” takes place, passengers may receive refunds for seat selection fees or checked baggage fees.
