Where a Suit Can Be Filed About a Property as Per Law

Under Civil Procedure Code, a suit for declaration relating to the rights and interest in an immovable property is instituted in a Court within local limits of which the property is situated. Under section 16 of CPC a suit for declaration relating to the rights and interest in an immovable property is instituted in a Court within local limits of which the property is situated.

Section 16 of the CPC clearly stipulates that all suits in respect of immovable property shall be filed in the Court within the local limits of whose jurisdiction the property in question is situated. The only exception to this rule is suits filed under Section 16(c).
